This paper presents the manufacturing of a device used for an accelerated testing for cathodic disbounding of pipeline coatings, device that observes and complies with the specifications of ASTM G8-96/USA standard and substantially reduces the testing period from 30 days to 30 hours (equivalent ratio of 1day/hour). The device manages to maintain constant the total electric charge past through the system, so that the final effect taken at the level of the intentional hole is equal to or greater than that in the sample subjected to a standard testing.
The assessment carried out with the proposed device becomes the least favoured case, so that the obtained results will cover also similar cases where the testing was carried out using the standard recommended method.
