Rezumat:
Quenching distance of ethylene/air mixture has been determined by the tube technique, at ambient initial conditions, for downward propagating flame. It has been also investigated by flanged electrode technique for a narrower range of composition (5÷10%), at atmospheric and sub-atmospheric pressures and ambient temperature.
The correlated minimum ignition energy, evaluation of the overall reaction order, calculation of the Peclet numbers at quenching conditions and relation between quenching distance and characteristic flame thickness, are also reported and compared with previous findings or literature data.
