The study of the contact between a liquid and a solid surface and the behavior of some materials in contact with different liquids has a big practical interest, because this behavior can affect the whole system where the material is used. The study can be performed by the surface energy determinations in several conditions. This paper presents a study on the behavior of some materials in contact with different liquids, based on the Kaeble method to determine the superficial energy of solids. As a result, it was concluded that the sealing features of the silicon emulsion used as plasto-elastic sealant are very high and such materials can be successfully used as waterproof sealant.
