Rezumat:
Extraction behaviour of two type of alkaline metals (Na +, K+) cations from aqueous phase to an organic phase ( methylene chloride and 1,2 dichloroethane ) was investigated with five types of extractants: p-tertbutylcalix[4]arene, aminobenzo-15- crown –5, aminobenzo-18 -crown- 6 and a mixture of p-tertbutylcalix[4]arene with each crown ethers mentioned above . All macrocyclic ligands show a moderate affinity for sodium and potassium cations. The effect of varying the pH of aqueous phase was examined. It was found that the tandems calix[4]arene – crown ethers present synergistic effect in the extraction of alkali ions, the yield of extraction being increased. It was suggested that π- π stacking effect between the aromatic nuclei of the two extractants accounts for the increase in extraction yield.
