Rezumat:
In Romania, Rana arvalis is distributed in four large geographical regions: the Western Plains, the Transylvanian Plateau, the Eastern Carpathians (all of these are in Transylvania) and the northern areas of Romanian Moldavia. However, the species has also been recorded in the, Tisa River Basin north of Maramures. From current knowledge, R. arvalis populations in Romania occupy very differing, however always humid habitats, all of which are surrounded by agricultural fields, roads or even residential areas. Even if we consider that R. arvalis in Romania is critically endangered (CR), we must point out that the conservation status is almost completely unknown. This lack of knowledge is mainly caused by the fact that the distribution of moor frog in Romania is not sufficiently known, as a lot of the records are old or based on misidentification. According to the currently available data, the most important moor frog populations are found in the Ier Valley, Somes Plain (the Western Plain), the Ciuc Basin, the Brasov Basin (Eastern Carpathians) and probably in northern Moldavia.
