Rezumat:

The paper presents a smart sensor of the wheel-rail adherence, a pan of a smart sensor of the velocity of the railway coach during ABS braking. The sliding of the wheels, which are loosing their contact with the rail, induces a total uncertainty over our knowledge about the velocity of the car, since the sensors of the wheels do not show it anymore. An accelerometer is included into the structure of the smart sensor, merged by means of a fuzzy controller with the velocity sensors of the wheels. Finally one introduces a new item to this fusion: a deterministic internal model of the braking system of the railway coach, in order to avoid the possible imprecision of the accelerometer at low accelerations and to provide on-line estimations of some important parameters of the system: the velocity of the car, the slack (sliding) of the wheels, the wheel-rail adherence. The estimated adherence is useful to the ABS controller for a high quality adaptation.
