Rezumat:
As service-oriented systems emerge toward a fully decentralized collaborative environment, resource aggregation becomes one of the important features to study. In this paper we investigate the effectiveness of resource aggregation in a peer-to-peer architecture with autonomous nodes that can either supply or consume services. We consider various setups concerning the initial endowment of the system with resources, the load with service requests, the intrinsic capability of the system for resource discovery and the subjective valuation of peers concerning the delivered services. We show that for high loads of the system with service requests, the performance of the resource supply does not degrade in the long run and for low loads the resource discovery method combined with the partner selection algorithm succeeds to deliver a better performance.
