Rezumat:
The development of aluminum bronzes has progressed to complex alloys with the addition of iron, nickel,
manganese, and other elements due to their resistance in nonoxidizing mineral acids, in organic acids like
acetic, citric, lactic and in some chloride containing solution. The addition of about 4% nickel in aluminum
bronzes with about 9% Al increase the dealloying resistance. The main task of this work was to compare
electrochemical and corrosion properties of aluminum nickel bronze in cast and sintered states. The chemical
composition of alloys was Al (9.5%), Ni (3.0%), Fe (1.5%), Mn (1.2%) and Cu (base). The cast alloys was cold
worked (sample D) and the sintered samples were prepared in two states: without heat treatment (sample
A), and with heat treatment (sample B). The electrochemical studies were performed using the following
methods: potential time measurements coupled with EIS technique, potentiodynamic curves, polarization
resistance, in chloride containing solution at different pH values. The electrochemical measurements show
a better corrosion resistance of heat-treated alloy in all studied solutions.
