Rezumat:

As a result of the technological evolution which led to the discovery of new fibres, the materiality of the garment, its fibrous composition, is a subject debated for many years. The new fibres have to meet the ever changing requirements of the individual, which are linked to the garment’s physiology or to specific technical aspects. Moreover, in the last few years the concept of sustainable development challenged both the specialists and the fashion designers towards a new approach of the vesture, the one of the eco-fashion. The garment is not only an aesthetic or artistic item, nor is it just a means of non-verbal communication, but firstly a way of protecting the human body and, lately, the environment as well.
