The influence of the boundary resistivity on the proximity effect

We apply the theory of Takahashi and Tachiki in order to explain theoretically the dependence of the upper critical magnetic field of a S/N multilayer on the temperature. This problem has been already investigated in the literature, but with a use of an unphysical scaling parameter for the coherence length. We show explicitely that, in order to describe the data, such an unphysical parameter is unnecessary if one takes into account the boundary resisitivity

Model calculations of the proximity effect in finite multilayers

The proximity-effect theory developed by Takahashi and Tachiki for infinite superconductor/normal (S/N) multilayers is applied to multilayer systems with a finite number of layers in the growth direction. The purpose is to investigate why previous applications to infinite multilayers fail to describe the measured data satisfactorily. It is shown that surface superconductivity may appear, depending on the thickness of the covering normal metallic

Constraints on space-time manifold in Euclidean supergravity in terms of Dirac eigenvalues

We generalize a previous work on Dirac eigenvalues as dynamical variables of Euclidean supergravity. The most general set of constraints on the curvatures of the tangent bundle and on the spinor bundle of the spacetime manifold, under which spacetime admits Dirac eigenvalues as observables, are derived.
