Dynamic Membranes for Catalytic Reaction

This contribution aims at obtaining benzaldehyde by interfacial catalytic oxidation of benzyl alcohol, using a dynamic membrane consisting of RuO2.xH2O on a polymeric support. It is shown that by this procedure it si possible to obtain benzaldehyde free of any other oxidation products. the oxidation mechanism is redarded as homolytic, with the active component being RuO4.
