ABSTRACT - The apparent lack of a robust tool to produce 3D rendering and animation of burnt areas lead to the development of the BAS2 (Burnt Area Statistics 2) utility. As the post-fire burn assessment is becoming more and more important in developed countries (USA, EU), systems to rapidly evaluate a post-fire situation are being set in place. The enlargement of North Atlantic and Pacific oscillations’ data availability allows the analysis of their variability on a monthly and yearly basis. Knowing thier variability mode may increase the degree of comprehension of the physical variability of the ocean – atmosphere couple. The North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and that of South Pacific (SOI) are analyzed in time and frequency while comparing different anaylsis methods ( Fourier et Wavelet).
