During my PhD and post doctoral studies at the University of La Rochelle in France and during 3 important research grants (2 in France and 1 in Romania) I developed a research direction in the field of applied fluid mechanics of flows occurring in buildings mostly intended for developing innovative air diffusers and flow passive control for improving thermal comfort and reducing energy costs. A connected subject focuses on developing a thermal manikin for advanced thermal comfort measurements of the influence played by the air turbulence on thermal comfort. Other research direction is related with indoor air quality in a team conducted by Dr. Vlad Iordache, and focus on the influence of the buildings permeability on the behavior of pollutants inside real buildings. Another developed topic is connected to the metrology through optical methods of blood flows in obstructed arteries. It concerns a participation of a national ”Partnership” project led by the Faculty of Aeronautics from UPB.
