premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

flag Details:
Dr. Cimpean has a great experience in the field of angiogenesis, lymphangiogenesis and experimental procedures. She is a member of the unique Angiogenesis Research Center from Romania (www.angiogenesistm.com ), Timişoara and she was accepted for a short stage in angiogenesis field in Prof. Domenico Ribatti Laboratory (known as an european pioneer in the field of angiogenesis and experimental model on chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane) from Bari Medical School, Italy. She sustained her PhD dissertation with thesis entitled Characterization of malignant tumors angiogenic phenotype and its clinical and experimental modulation" and she was awarded with "SUMMA CUM LAUDE" PhD distinction. Her main research topic consists in the study of normal and tumor microenvironment dependent angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis. She has participated in 12 research projects as staff member responsible for immunohistochemical, experimental part and results dissemination of these projects and she managed one project as director. As histologist and pathologist too, she was involved in the studz of angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis from different solid tumors. She has good practical skills in the lab methods especially in immunohistochemical methods standardization. Results of these practical skills were recognized at the international scientific level by several citation of her papers in Wikipedia (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keratin_34, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chorioallantoic_
membrane, de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thymus-Epithelzelle) and in the antibodies datasheets of numerous manufacturers from Europe, Asia and USA,http://www.epitomics.com/products/product_ info/413,http://www.cellmarque.com/pdf_files/direct/1992.pdf,http://www.sinobiological.com/ VEGF-Protein-a-229.html, http://www.abcam.com/Podoplanin-gp36-antibody-18H5- ab10288.
html). She characterized for the first time the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF A), platelet growth factors and their receptors in human thymus and thymomas (these were previously described only in animal model). Her studies have been extended for other malignant condition as breast cancer, soft tissue tumors or cervical cancer. For the last type of cancer, she described by morphology and immunohistochemical methods chronology of blood and lymphatic neovessels development in cervical malignant progression and also, she pointed premalignant cervical lesions as a key moment not only for tumorigenesis but also for angio- and lymphangiogenesis. She clearly described that activation and proliferation of blood vessels in cervical cancer are two distinct but consecutive processes. She described vasculogenesis, angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis on human embryonic tissues. Her works were cited in book chapters from prestigious international publishing houses as you can observed later in this scientific profile. She is the second author of the first (and single, until now) book concerning angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis in solid tumors published in Romania as a result of the research findings from a previous research project in the field. As a scientific visibility, she has more than 50 papers, most of them published between 2002 and 2011 in national and international journals, indexed in PubMed, with more than 100 citations in prestigious journals as Nature, Proceeding of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America, PLoS One or ScienceAsia.Scientific work has been disseminated by participation at numerous international conferences. From several invited talks it is necessary to mention here those from Kos, Greece at 8th International Conference of Anticancer Research, Kos, Greece, 2008, October 17-22 (John Delinassios, Director IIAR, http://www.iiar-anticancer.org/main.php?id=5. She was invited to review papers in the field of lymphangiogenesis and tumor angiogenesis as follow: 1. European Journal of Clinical Investigation, 2008; 2. Cancer Letters, (2008, Editor Manfred Schwab). 3. Journal of Clinical Anatomy, Editor: Stephen Carmichael. 2009. She was invited by Bentham Publisher to participate as co author at one chapter of the book Recent advances in angiogenesis and antiangiogenesis, Bentham Publisher,USA, eISSN 978-1-60805-004-8, 2009, in Thymus and angiogenesis section (http://www.bentham science.com). Also, five recognized authors cited her papers in chapter of prestigious books as follow:
