THE PREVIOUS SCOPES PROJECT:
1. SCOPES project IZ73Z0_128036 Xenobiotic Input to the Prut River (XENOPRUT) (2009-2012). Project with 2 European partners. Moldovan project coapplicant – Prof. I. Povar, executants: Prof. T. Lupascu, PhD Larisa Postolachi. The objective was to improve current knowledge on the occurrence and behavior of hazardous substances from urban and agricultural sources in the Prut River basin. Occurrence and mass flows of the selected compounds in the aqueous phase were investigated in field studies con-ducted at the Prut River. The amounts of heavy metals (Mercury, Nickel, Cadmium, Copper, Zinc, Cobalt, Iron and Arsenic), Nitrogen and Phosphorus compounds in the Prut River waters were determined by the Moldovan Team using the Atomic Adsorption Spectroscopy, Adsorptive Striping Cathodic Voltammetry, Alternative Current Voltammetry and UV VIS spectrophotometry. The microwaves techniques were used for the sample preparations. Results obtained by different methods were correlated. At each sampling locations the discharge were measured continuously by sensors (conductivity, temperature, dissolved oxygen concentration).
