Rezumat:
Can mind produce randomness? Various human subjects were asked to produce random sequences of integers. The series were analysed by FFT, detrended fluctuation analysis, information and approximate entropy. It was found that only a fraction of the subjects were able to produce close to random series. The results do seem to favor neither Penrose’s nor Goertzel’s theories of consciousness. Most of the subjects produced series characterized by a 1/f^1/4 spectrum. Although the basic structure of the human languages, as revelaed in the human writtings, is different compared to the mental series of integers, both of them have a similar long-range correlation characteristic.
