The present paper examines the characteristics of some new composite materials synthesized by impregnating activated carbon with CaCl ,solutions ofdifferent concentrations. Water sorption properties of the novel composite materials were studied and it was found that the water amount adsorbed increases remarkably when the CaCl 2 concentration in matrix increases. The structure and sorption properties of the composites were investigated by XRF, XRD, TG, BET, SEM techniques.
