USE OF GLYCIDYLS IN THE MODIFICATION OF POLYURETHANE MEMBRANE STRUCTURES

Aromatic glycidyl ethers have been used for modifying the structure of polyurethane membranes and improving their properties. The changes of chemical structure of the polyurethane in the membrane network have been followed by IR spectroscopy. The structural uniformity of the membrane has been elucidated by osmotic measurements and SEM. The structure of the membranes obtained has been related to their permeability towards distilled water.

Structure of mixed matrix membranes made with SAPO-5 zeolite in polyurethane matrix

SAPO-5 zeolite has been used to modify the structure of polyurethane membranes and to improve their properties. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Bubble-point test, water permeability, swelling in water and several alcohols (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol and 1-butanol) and density measurements have been used to study the incorporation of SAPO-5 zeolite in polyurethane membranes, the changes of supramolecular

The obtaining and characterisation of NaCl nanocrystalline dispersions for saline type therapeutical climate. III. The evaluation of the „Saline” device reliability

The work presents the reliability of a Romanian manufactured apparatus, Salin (S.C. Tehno Bionic S.R.L. Buzau), based on structural and functional features, used-up for therapeutic environments and for creating the treatment effect of halochambers and for air sanitation. Through the implication of some methods and proper techniques it was studied the aerosol emission dynamics in natural conditions of temperature and relative humidity of air, then

Structural, electrical and optical properties of thin ZnO films prepared by chemical precipitation

A chemical method for the production of thin ZnO films by using a chemical precipitation technique is presented in this paper. The method consists in obtaining the thin ZnO films (300-500 nm) by thermal decomposition of zinc hydroxide formed by the precipitating of zinc acetate from alkaline solution, in the presence of ethylenediamine on a solid support i.e. glass. The use of this method implies investment economies, and the simplicity of the work

Structural characterization of hydroxyapatite layer coatings on titanium supports

This paper presents a study on an alternative coating method based on biomimetic techniques which are designed to form a crystalline HA layer in a manner similar to the process of natural bone formation. The HA formation on the surface of titanium alloy pretreated with NaOH solution is investigated. Two types of solutions such as supersaturated calcification solution (SCS) and modified SCS (M-SCS) were used to investigate bone-like apatite formation

Use of SAPO-5 zeolite-filled polyurethane membranes in wastewater treatment

The SAPO-5 zeolite-filled polyurethane membranes with perselectivity to the gases or liquids were prepared, characterized and utilized for the ultra- and, respectively, microfiltration (UF + MF) of synthetic wastewater containing colophony. The influence of the colloidal dispersion concentration on the membrane processes has been followed. Also, the conversion degree of colophony colloidal dispersions has been studied versus light diffusion through

The obtaining and characterization of nanocrystalline NaCl dispersions for „saline” type therapeutical environments. II. The in situ analysis of saline rooms aerosols

This paper presents experimental data about "in situ" concentration computation of NaCl aerosols and NaCl granulometric assessment from representative saline mines of this country which contain saline rooms. A modified conductometric method was used in this study having as aim the achievement of some differential analysis, implying a device having systems with gas dispersion in liquid by aspiration and that was compared with data furnished by a laser

New hybrid nanostructures based on oxacillin-hydrotalcite-like anionic clays and their textural properties

New hybrid nanostructures based on inorganic matrices of hydrotalcite-like anionic clays (HT) incorporated with oxacillin are obtained by using calcinations-restructure method. XRD and TEM analyses are used to study the structural and textural characteristics of the clay containing hybrids. When nanoparticles of iron oxides are loaded on the layered anionic clay matrix a more effective delivery system of the drug is obtained. The results can be used

The obtaining and characterization of NaCl nanocrystalline dispersion for „saline”-type therapeutical media. I. Theoretical aspects

The paper presents the obtaining process and microstructural characterization of the NaCl aerosols, containing references from scientific literature about present methods and techniques for synthesis, and also the main characteristics of aerosol particles and aerosols generally. Those are determined by source and by environment factors. In this connection, there are presented functional characteristics of sources (size and aerosol density, formation

Preparation and characterization of polymer–zeolite nanocomposite membranes

Polymer–zeolite nanocomposite membrane separations represent a growing technological area with potentially high economic reward due to the low energy requirements. The use of polymer–zeolite nanocomposite membrane with incorporated zeolite nanocrystals has the potential to combine the advantages of polymers and zeolites while overcoming the shortcomings of both materials. This work focuses on the use of zeolite SAPO-5 nanocrystals for the preparation
