premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Construction of Minimum Euclidean Distance MIMO Precoders and Their Lattice Classifications

This correspondence deals with the construction of minimum Euclidean distance precoders for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with up to four transmit antennas. By making use of a state-of-the-art technique for optimization over the unitary group, we can numerically optimize the MIMO precoders. The correspondence then proceeds by identifying the obtained precoders as well-known lattices (square Z2, Schl"afli D4, D6, Gosset E8). With three

RSSI-based Relative Localisation for Mobile Robots

In this work, we develop an anchor-less relative localisation algorithm aimed to be used in multi-robot teams. The localisation is performed based on the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) readings collected from the messages exchanged between nodes. We use the RSSI as a rough estimate of the inverse of distance between any pair of communicating nodes, and we claim that such estimates provide a coarse information of the nodes relative localisation

Time synchronization and ranging in OFDM systems using time-reversal

In this paper, we propose a new two-way time synchronization (TS) method for OFDM-based wireless systems. It relies on the time-reversal (TR) technique in order to remove the effect of the channel phase after the signal round-trip. For this reason, the method is named TR-TS. TR technique yields a linear phase rotation across subcarriers, regardless whether the channel is minimum, maximum, or mixed phase. This phase is proportional to the difference
