premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Transgenic tomato plants expressing the antigen gene PfCP2.9 of Plasmodium falciparum

The objective of this work was to obtain transgenic tomato plants expressing the PfCP2.9 protein (a chimera of the antigens MSP1 and AMA1 of Plasmodium falciparum). Cotyledons of seven-day;old tomatoes, cultivar Summers, were transformed via Agrobacterium tumefaciens. Transgenic expression in the T0 plants was verified in the DNA extracted from fruits. PCR analysis was used to test the presence of the gene of interest in the T1 generation. Reverse

Intruchipari.

The importance of humanistic education in medical training.Professional decisions between succes ad failure.

Natural sciences are combined with humanistic in medical training. More theory or more practice? Natural sciences or humanistic sciences? Should students in medicine acquire humanistic or natural sciences, in order to be able in the future to make the right ethical decisions? The knowledge of the humanities or of the natural sciences must be attaining in perspective of following correct ethical decision? Humanistic sciences are those subjects of

Progress in coupling models of coastline and fluvial dynamics

The morphology and depositional history of wave-influenced deltas reflects the interplay between the fluvial and coastal domains. Here we present initial results of the coupling of stand-alone coastal and terrestrial models within the Community Surface Dynamics Modeling System (CSDMS) Component Modeling Tool (CMT), applied to study the evolution of wave-influenced deltas. The coastal domain is modeled using the Coastline Evolution Model (CEM), which

First record of Anisops sardeus (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Notonectidae) in Romania

Two adult specimens of Anisops sardeus sardeus Herrich-Schaeffer 1849 were collected in a small pond during an inventory campaign of aquatic and semiaquatic Heteroptera in the North-East of Romania. The species is widespread in tropical and subtropical Africa and South-West Asia, but in Europe it is limited to the Mediterranean zone. Here, the species is recorded for the first time in Romania.

CURRENT AND FUTURE POTENTIAL DISTRIBUTION OF GLACIAL RELICT LIGULARIA SIBIRICA (ASTERACEAE) IN ROMANIA AND TEMPORAL CONTRIBUTION OF NATURA 2000 TO PROTECT THE SPECIES IN LIGHT OF GLOBAL CHANGE

In the recent history, climatic changes have taken place at a planetary scale and organisms needed to adapt to these changes. The last glaciation is one of most documented climatic events responsible for the current distribution of living organisms. In the last two decades, conservationists have intensively discussed how extant organisms, some of which witnessed the last glaciation, will be able to cope with the new challenge: global warming. In

Boundary feedback stabilization of periodic fluid flows in a magnetohydrodynamic channel

In this note, an electrically conducting 2-D channel fluid flow, in the presence of a transverse magnetic field, is investigated. The governing equations are the magnetohydrodynamics equations, which are a coupling between the Navier-Stokes and Maxwell equations. The stability of the Hartmann-Poiseuille profile is achieved by finite-dimensional feedback controllers acting on both normal components of the velocity field and of the magnetic field,

Synchronous and periodic calcium oscillations in neuronal networks formed by sensory neurons in primary culture

Neurite outgrowth was observed for the neuronal networks formed in primary neuronal cultures from dorsal root ganglia. Their activity was analyzed by fluorescence microscopy technique in order to evidence the level of calcium ions (calcium imaging) in cytosol of the neurons. Cells were loaded with calcium fluorescent dye Calcium Green-I. Using this technique; we have evidenced the spontaneous oscillations of the cytosolic calcium concentration in

Basic features of sensory neurons from dorsal root ganglia in TCR-HA+/– / RIP-HA+/– mice

Despite the increased prevalence of peripheral diabetic neuropathy, some of its mechanisms are still unknown. In our study, we have used a double transgenic mice (dTg) model, TCR-HA+/–/RIP-HA+/–, which develops a fulminate type of insulino-dependent diabetes. The goal of our study was to reveal the molecular mechanisms of diabetic neuropathy in neuronal primary cultures. The presence of the transgenes, that are responsible for the etiophatogenesis
