Ioana Marcela Padure

Over 15 years of experience in both research and teaching in the field of biology, ecology and plant science. PhD in Systematic Botany since 2005 (author of the Monography of Nepeta L. in Romania). My primary interests are angiosperms systematics (with emphasis on the taxonomy and phylogeny of Lamiaceae, especially in Nepeta L. species. My research field is focused on biochemistry, ecology, taxonomy and chorology of Nepeta's species in Romania (Monography of Nepeta L. in Romania, 2005; supervisor: Prof. Dr. Vasile Ciocarlan). I am Assistant Profesor (University of Agronomical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine, U.S.A.M.V. Bucharest) with teaching responsibilities in Systematic Botany (Vascular Plants) and Plant Anatomy and Morphology for students in diverse departments. Current teaching activity is focused on development and teaching on new courses and labs in plant systematic (including morpho-anatomy) for undergraduate level. Director and curator of Herbarium (BUAG) in University of Agronomical Sciences, Bucharest with more 30000 sheets. Adviser for plant systematics and collector for "I. Todor" Botanical Garden of our University in Bucharest (U.S.A.M.V.B.); lecturer at the Botany Dept., member of The LINNEAN SOCIETY of London (LSL), International Association for Plant Taxonomist (IAPT) and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants of Southeast European Countries Association (AMAPSEEC).
