I'm doing researches in the field of history of international relations, especially concerning the history of the relationship between Romania and Finland, Romania and the Baltic States, Romania and Scandinavia. I have published so far several books, including "Istoria Europei Nordice si Baltice. De la Razboiul Rece la era globalizarii" (The History of the Northern and Baltic Europe. From the the Cold War to the era of Globalization), Editura Cetatea de Scaun, Targoviste, 2005 (400 pp.), "Romania si Tarile Baltice in perioada interbelica" (Romania and the Baltic States during the inter-war period), Editura Cetatea de Scaun, Targoviste, 2003 (241 pp.).I'm one of the authors of the book "The Forgotten Minorities of Eastern Europe. The History and Today of Selected Ethnic Groups in Five Countries", East and West Books, Helsinki, 2004 (The chapter titled The Csangos of Romanians, pp. 123-163).I'm currently doing a research stipended by the Romanian Ministry of Education on the Romanian concept of the North during the Modern and Contemporary Ages.I'm the chairman of the Romanian Association for Baltic and Nordic Studies and the editor-in-chief of the magazines Valahian Journal of Historical Studies (included in the CEEOL database) and Revista Romana pentru Studii Baltice si Nordice.

In prezent desfasor cercetari cu privire la Conceptul romanesc de Nord in epocile moderna si contemporana.
Sunt presedintele Asociatiei Romane pentru Studii Baltice si Nordice (din anul 2008) si redactor-sef la publicatiile "Valahian Journal of Historical Studies" (revista CNCSIS, tip B+, inclusa in bazele de date CEEOL si Ebsco si indexata de IndexCopernicus) si Revista Romana pentru Studii Baltice si Nordice (revista inclusa inclusa in baza de date CEEOL si indexata de IndexCopernicus).
