Scopul nostru este sprijinirea şi promovarea cercetării ştiinţifice şi facilitarea comunicării între cercetătorii români din întreaga lume.
I have studied Physics and Philosophy and I was awarded the PhD in history and philosophy of science at the University of Bucharest (2000, magna cum laudae). I had a fellowship at Oxford (Balliol College) and a couple of grants at Oxford, London (Warburg Institute) and Central European University, Budapest. I am interested in the origins of modernity, exploring the interactions between natural philosophy, moral philosophy and theology in the 16th and 17th century. I am a member of the Research group "Foundations of Early Modern Thought", European Society for History of Science, HOPOS and International Society for Intellectual History. I am also an alumnus New Europe College. I have published a book on the origins of scientific modernity and a number of articles on various aspects of seventeenth century natural philosophy, the nature of matter and space in seventeenth century and the relation between natural philosophy and moral philosophy in early modern thought. I am coordinating the annual seminar organised jointly by the Research group "Foundations of Early Modernity" and the Philosophy Department of Princeton University. I am teaching course on the foundations of European Modernity, modern philosophy and history and philosophy of early modern science at the Western University "Vasile Goldis" and the University of Bucharest.
