Mircea Curila received the Diploma of Aplied Electronics in 1994 from The Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Romania, the Diploma of Mathematics in 1995 from Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science, University “Babes-Bolyai”, Cluj-Napoca, Romania and PhD Diploma – Decorelation techniques used in image processing in 2003 from University of Oradea. His current research interests lie in the areas of algorithms for: image representation, image enhancement, higher order statistics, image acquisition and processing using wavelet and multiwavelet approaches, image compression, blind sources separation, virtual reality and virtual environment. Applications areas are: computer vision, medical imaging, telecommunications, robotics.
