premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

flag Details:
* The main part of my scientific activity concerns the dynamics and the
physics of the small bodies of the Solar System. The major part of the
physical studies (observations, data reduction, analysis, taxonomical
studies) for the asteroids were developed in the framework of the
groundbased program of preparations for the ESA Cornerstone mission
ROSETTA.
* During January 2000, I was under ESA contract as consultant on problems
of minor bodies.
* Another part of my activity consists in the participation (from 1994 to
1998) at the former astrometric programme CONFOR (astrometry of
intermediate stars in the neighbourhod of the radio sources). The main
goal of the program was the establishment of the link between the
optical reference system and the radio ones.
* I have acquired skills on both astrometric (photographic, CCD) and
photometric (photoelectric, CCD) observations, as well as experience on
data reduction using appropriate software packages (Midas, IDL, Astrol).
Most of the observations I have made were done in Bucharest Observatory,
but also abroad (ESO/La Silla-Chile, Observatoire de Haute-Provence,
Pic du Midi Observatory).
* On January 2002 was performed for the first time a remote observation between Europe and Hawaii (IRTF-a 3 meter aperture telescope). The experiment was conceived by Richard Binzel (MIT), Mirel Birlan (Observatoire de Paris), and Bobby Bus (Hawaii Institute of Astronomy).
