Detalii:
Details:
During bachelor years I had the opportunity to practice in the field of aquatic ecosystem research.
My thesis examined the use of mathematical modelling in the development of water quality
scenarios and the contribution of these scenarios to regional development planning. During the
same period I contributed to the Aquamoney project, with a case study in Braila Islands where I put
into practice the WTP methodology in order to assess the way people value the ecological
restoration of the Danube floodplain.
I was member of the project team for “The Feeble State and its Consequences: a Case Study of
the Rosia Montana”, sponsored by the Soros Foundation. The project focused on the alternatives
for sustainable integrated development of the area. I had the chance to explore Rosia’a cultural
and natural heritage and the possibilities to make them work without sacrificing the environment
and the social resources in the long run.
My research activity grew significantly with the IEEP projects. I mainly explored biodiversity funding
options through ecotaxes and the valuation of ecosystem services (provisioning, regulating and
cultural services) by stakeholders in all European countries.
Further to the internship at the Climate Change and Sustainable Development Directorate
(Romanian Ministry of Environment), I chose to investigate how Romania’s climate policy evolved
during the last decade (European accession included) and reached the current post 2012 profile.
My dissertation paper "The post-2012 climate policy for Romania” analysed Romania’s constraints
and opportunities in the context of international political agreements, its specific interests and
instruments.
