flag Detalii:
I have performed research in the area of academic writing and corpus linguistics: SNSF-SCOPES Project “Literacy Development in the Humanities: Creating Competence Centres for the Enhancement of Reading and Writing Skills as Part of University Teaching” / LIDHUM” (IP: IZ74Z0_137428 / 2011-2013), COST-Switzerland Project „Writing cultures and Academic Mobility” (2010-2012), COST Action IS0703 ERN-LWE „The European Research Network on Learning to Write Effectively“ (2010-2012), other national and study-program-related research projects. Currently, I am working on integrating the results of analyses on self-compiled academic-writing corpora in Economics into an English-German interactive platform, Thesis Writer*, which supports discipline-specific thesis (BSc and MSc) writing in English and German.

I have also gathered experience in:
- Research project application and administration (>5 project applications at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF); >5 applications for funding university-internal research projects; >1 project applications at the Commission for Technology and Innovation (CTI); project-related financial and scientific reports)
- Research project coordination (coordination of 2 international projects; co-coordination of 1 Swiss project; coordination of 1 Romanian project)
- University/workshop teaching (10-15 persons) in research methodology (scientific project management, online survey design and implementation; statistical analysis in linguistics; corpus linguistic research; corpus linguistic tools: WordSmith, RANGE, CLAWS; corpus-based academic writing).

flag Details:
I finished my PhD studies at the University Albert-Ludwig of Freiburg, Germany, in 2011. My doctoral thesis investigated the lexico-grammatical profile of Romanian Learner English. The focus of the PhD project was on selected types of written texts (i.e. the argumentative-essay genre) produced in English by Romanian students of English, which were compiled into the first Romanian Corpus of Learner English (RoCLE, pilot version of RO-ICLE).

Previously, I received a M.A. degree in European Linguistics from the same German university (2006) and a B.A. degree in English and French language and literature (2000) from the University Transilvania of Brasov, Romania.

At present, since October 2011, I have been working as a postdoctoral (senior) researcher at the Department of Applied Linguistics of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences. My fields of interest are corpus linguistics, especially learner corpus investiagtions, academic writing and contrastive writing cultures. I speak English, German and French (fluent), Italian (proficient) and Spanish (intermediate).
