Grigore Stamatescu

Grigore S. Stamatescu graduated from the Politehnica University of Bucharest (UPB) in 2009 and holds the Ph.D. degree (2012) from the same university. He is currently Associate Professor (Habil. 2019) with the Department of Automation and Industrial Informatics, Automatic Control and Computers Faculty, UPB. His research interests include networked embedded sensing, the internet of things and distributed information processing in industry, the built environment and smart cities. Recent results include statistical learning methods for load forecasting and anomaly detection in building energy traces and data-driven modelling of large-scale manufacturing systems, with focus on energy efficiency. Research results have been published in over 100 articles in international conferences and journals. He was the general chair of the 2017 IEEE IDAACS conference and organiser of the yearly IEEE IWSSS workshop, regularly serving within the scientific community as reviewer, editor and external expert. Dr. Stamatescu was a Fulbright Visiting Scholar 2015-2016 at the University California, Merced, and a JESH Scholar of the Austrian Academy of Sciences in 2019. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, member of ACM and of the IFAC TC3.3.Telematics: Control via Communication Networks.
