Valeria GAGIU is a senior researcher at IBA Bucharest, with 21 years experience in the field of ’’Agriculture. Food Safety and Security’’.
She has managed 12 research projects on the topic of the biological and chemical contaminants: mycotoxins in cereals and food, food microbiology and control, antifungal sourdough, food preservatives, integrated systems to reduce contaminants in food chain, GMO's testing in the official control system, and the influence of present/future climate conditions on the agro-food chain.
She is the author and co-author of more than 31 research papers, 6 book chapters and 43 presentations.
Her current research is focused on the cereal and food contamination with mycotoxins in the geographic and agroclimatic context in Romania, southeast Europe and Global.
