I'm a microbiologist, working on an interdisciplinary project entitled "Mechanisms and molecular biology of mineral dissolution under the influence of bacteria and fungi" at University College Dublin, Ireland. I graduated Biology at Babes-Bolyai University Cluj in 1991, then worked there as Assistant Professor and Lecturer until 2001 when I moved to UK. I worked for 4 years as a researcher at the Natural History Museum in London (Marie Curie Fellow) studying mineral dissolution and the biogeochemistry of Fe isotope fractionation in MIC (microbial induced corrosion). I obtained my PhD degree in Microbial ecology in 2001 from Babes-Boliay University. I was awarded a UNESCO fellowship in 1995 for a year to work in the Institute of Biophysics (Szeged, Hungary) and a Romanian Guvernment Fellowship (in 1999) to complete my molecular biology studies for my PhD thesis at Warwick University, UK. Next year I'll be the organizer of the session on Geomicrobiology at the European Geosciences Union (EGU), Vienna (Austria) 13-18 April, 2008 (http://meetings.copernicus.org/egu2008/).I live in Dublin.

Detalii:
Sunt microbiolog, cercetator in University College in Dublin, Irlanda. Anul viitor voi organiza o sesiune de Geomicrobiologie in cadrul Conferintei Internationale European Geosciences Union (EGU), in Viena (Austria) Vienna, Austria, 13 – 18 April 2008 (http://meetings.copernicus.org/egu2008/).
Locuiesc in Dublin.
