The paper shows the research and the scientific experience cumulated by the author in the frame of an international project done at T. U. Munchen, Germany, in which we have obtained
the receipt to manufacture an alternative fuel-biodiesel-from animal fats with high FFA content (waste fats). In the past year, with the financial support of the Romanian government – CEEX
programme -and RO-B.EN.A. we have succeeded to construct an experimental installation for fats and waste fats transesterification. The research was extended to a comparative study (using
CALROADS software) diesel-biodiesel in two hypotheses: one when all compression engine vehicles use diesel fuel (real scenario), the other, when all compression engine vehicles use biodiesel
fuel (prognosed scenario). The simulation scenarios are conducted to 5 major cross-roads in the city of Timisoara
