Rezumat:
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a treatment modality that uses a drug and light to kill tumor cells. A large number of photosensitizing agents have been tested in PDT exeperiments. The aim of the present study was to evaluate an effect of 5, 10, 15, 20-tetra (4-sulfophenyl) porphyrin (TS4PP) on viability of tumor (LSR-SF-SR, LSCC-SF-Mc29) and non-tumor (EBTr, L929) cell lines in vitro. The experiments were performed using neutral red uptake cytotoxicity test. Different concentrations — 10, 100, 250 and 500 µg/ml, were tested. Light at 514 nm was applied using Ar-ion laser. The light doses delivered varied from 0.2 up to 2 J/cm2. The effect of the compound without irradiation was also examined.
