Rezumat:
In the April-July period of the year 2004, we had analysed the trophic spectrum of a total number of 114 green frogs (74 Pelophylax kl. esculentus, 40 Pelophylax lessonae) from a habitat near Livada localityin the north-western part of Romania. We extracted a total number of 693 prey items (386 from Pelophylax kl. esculentus and 307 from Pelophylax lessone). Beside invertebrate preys, plant materials and remainings of molted skin were identified in the stomach contents. Among the most important prey items consumed by the two green frogs studied by us, are: Araneidae, Coleoptera, Lepidoptera larvae and Hymenoptera Formicidae. The results of our study reveal that there are no significant differences in the feeding of the two green frogs, Pelophylax lessonae and Pelophylax kl. esculentus which are sharing the same habitat.
