Rezumat:
In the present paper a new protection system for pumping stations is proposed consisting of „air chamber provided with a special device generating asymmetric local hydraulic resistance” wwhich is able to reduce considerably and in certain conditions even to annihilate completely presure increases during hydraulic nonstationnary motions.
This new protection system has been applied in the design of more than 20 pumping stations in Romania,,most of them already in operation.The effect of this protection system on pressure increases in the pressure pipe is exhibited both by laboratory experimental studies and by hydraulic computations.
