Rezumat:
The paper presents the mathematical basis of a computational method for the analisis of hydraulic transient regimes,which develop within the complex surge tank hydraulic schemes that protect the high head hydropower plants,while being in operation.
The method allows the accurate computational of: 1.the extreme oscillations in the multiple surge tank systems; 2.the hydraulic stability and incipient resonant regimes,to possibly occur in the operation of the hydropower plants of high hydraulic heads. The paper includes the sfety analysis and ultimately the designs of two high head hydroelectric power plants in Romania that are currently in operation nowadays (HPP-Tismana and HPP-Lotru).
