Rezumat:

In Romania, the research work is performed at different institutions: universities, institutes of the Academy, independent institutes for applied research, and industrial enterprises which have own R&D department. The research in the field of molecular modeling and process simulation has a good tradition, but unfortunately, it is not well known. The progressive development has started after December 1989. In February 1991, the Commission of Quantum Chemistry of Romanian Academy was established which concern promote of the fundamental research in the field of molecular chemistry regarding the structure, properties and interactions between molecules. The main existing groups and projects in the field of molecular modeling and process simulation in organic chemistry, chemical engineering and phase equilibria with possible industrial applications are reported.
