Modelling of Complex Systems Phase Behaviour at High Pressures by Means of the SRK Equation of State

In this paper the Soave-Redlich-Kwong equation of state with quadratic mixing rule has been tested for the modelling of phase equilibria data at high pressures in systems of different complexity as it follows: binary and ternary systems containing nitrogen – carbon dioxide – methanol – dimethyl ether and hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) + lubricant oils (polyalkylene glycols (PAGs) and polyol esters (POEs)). The interaction parameters kij were evaluated for each binary pair and used in prediction of vapour-liquid-liquid equilibria. The results of correlation and prediction are discussed. The study is important in generalization of data for design of environmental friendly fuels production technology and for the extensive use of alternative clean refrigerants. The computations were performed using Phase Equilibria 2000 software (PE2000).
