Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience
GBP 27,319 – 35,646 p.a.
Limit of tenure: up to 4 years
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate post in the laboratory of Dr Octavian Voiculescu from 1 December 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The project aims at understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of generating the main axis higher vertebrates by stem cell populations, using the chick as a model system and state-of-the-art gene manipulation, imaging and molecular techniques [see Nature 449: 1049 (2007) and Nature Protocols 3: 419 (2008)].
A strong background in molecular biology and profiling is required; previous experience in chick embryology, imaging or mathematical approaches to developmental biology would be an advantage.
If you wish to apply, please send a statement of scientific interests and full CV accompanied by form CHRIS/6, parts 1 and 3 (available from www.pdn.cam.ac.uk/jobs) to: ogv20@cam.ac.uk
