Abstract: In this work it is considered the obtaining of chlorophyll in crystalline form, from fir needles (Abies alba) and from pine needles (Pinus sylvestris), quantitative colorimetric determination of chlorophyll, chromatographically separation of, a „chlorophyll from,, b” chlorophyll and the possible utilization in medical purpose. The chlorophyll content is determined by a colorimetric method, and results interpretation is made by some calculus relation established by MacKinney-Arnon, both for „a” and „b” chlorophyll. Total chlorophyll content were 13.54 mg/100g for fir needles and 17.07 mg/100g for pine needless. Chlorophyll in crystalline form was obtained by purification of crude extract by successive classical operations. Separation of „a” chlorophyll from „b” chlorophyll was made on a powder sugar chromatographic column, with petroleum ether as mobile phase.
