Rezumat:
Pyrazinamide (pyrazine carboxamide ,PZA), the pyrazine analogue of nicotinamide, is among the first-line drugs for the treatment of tuberculosis, which seems to reappear as a frequent disease.
The FT-infrared (400-400 cm-1) and FT-Raman (100-3500 cm-1) spectra of pyrazinamide (PZA) and [Cu(PZA)2]Cl2 were recorded. The observed wavenumbers were analyzed and assigned to different normal modes of vibration of the molecule. The low wavenumber region of the Raman spectrum has given information on the strength of the Cu-O and Cu-N bonds in the complex.
The EPR spectrum of [Cu(PZA)2]Cl2 occurs from resonant centers disposed in an elongated octahedron vicinity with rhombic symmetry, having different ligands along the tree x,y,z axes.
It has been proven that the pyrazinamide ligands in structure of Cu(II) complex are coordinated to the metal ion with the pyrazine ring nitrogen and the carbonyl group.
