Theoretical Study on the Inclusion of Allergens with Partially Methylated Crystallized β-Cyclodextrin and Hydroxypropyl β-Cyclodextrin

Several compounds used in fragrance are suspected to be allergens and thus has to be extracted and analyzed. Cyclodextrins are well known to form inclusion complexes with a wide range of organic compounds. This is why we investigated, by a theoretical study, the interactions that occur between two modified cyclodextrins and 21 compounds suspected to be allergens. The computed complexation energies, ΔE, have been calculated for the inclusion of 21

Optimized procedure for clay pillaring with aluminum species used in depollution

This study presents the improved method of smectite type clays pillaring, using aluminum salts. To achieve this goal, natural clay with a percentage of more than 95% montmorillonite was used. In order to analyze the pillaring process, a thermal procedure was used (thermal programmed desorption). The results of the pillaring process show that a controlled distance between the foliar band structures as long as 18 center dot 10(-10) m can be obtained.

Photochemical behaviour upon the inclusion for some volatile organic compounds in new fluorescent indolizine beta-cyclodextrin sensors

The potentialities of three new fluorescent indolizine modified P-cyclodextrin have been investigated as molecular chemosensors. The pyridin4-ylindolizine beta-cyclodextrin derivatives were synthesised by an amidation between the fluorescent indolizine derivatives and 6-deoxy-6-amino-beta-cyclodextrin. The multiconformational search by MM3 and AM1 method in gaseous state and in water respectively suggest the "open cavity" structure as the most probable.

Synthesis, inclusion capabilities, and electrical properties of some asymmetrical cyclophanes

For the first time, we announce the synthesis of cyclo(bis-paraquat-p-phenylene-p-phenylene-carbonyl)tetrakis(hexafluorophosphate), named 'CETOBOX'. This compound exists in three tautomeric forms. These forms were evidenced by NMR data (H-1 NMR, TOCSY, COSY, and NOESY), UV-vis spectra coupled with pH measurements, and by synthesis. As the 'CETOBOX' gives 'in situ' only the corresponding monoylide, the synthesis of a new fluorescent indolizine cyclophane

Cyclophanes or cyclodextrins: What is the best host for aromatic volatile organic compounds?

The first results of the complexing ability of cyclobis-(paraquat-p-phenylene) as supramolecular host with different aromatic volatile organic compounds are presented. The formation constants of cyclobis(paraquat-p-phenylene) with toluene and halogenobenzenes were determined in aqueous solution by static headspace associated with gas chromatography and compared with the ones obtained by cyclodextrins. The data indicated the formation of 1:1 inclusion
