The aim of the present paper is to evaluate TiAlNb alloys’ bioactivity in terms of hydroxyapatite (HA) forming capability after immersion in SBF solution for 4,7,14 and 21 days. The results were supported by surface analysis using Environmental Scanning Electron Microscope FEI/Phillips XL30 ESEM and infrared analysis.
Read moreAbstract - Titanium oxide (TiO2) thin films devoted to biomedical application were obtained using the chemical vapour deposition method. The films were deposited on titanium substrate using a low-pressure reactor with varied precursor molar fractions and deposition temperatures. The influence of these parameters on film properties was studied by scanning electron microscopy images, roughness measuring, X-ray diffraction, contact angle measuring and
Read moreThe purpose of this work was to evaluate some of the corrosion processes that may occur on NiTi metallic devices—namely, breakdown potential, repassivation and passive dissolution—and to determine whether surface processing such as mechanical polished an heat treated may affect their behaviour.
Read moreNatural or synthetic antioxidants are used in the formula of dermatocosmetics, which contain components with different unsaturation degree and are exposed to auto oxidative / oxidative, to conserve the initial properties and maintain their stability in time. The paper presents the behavior of some common antioxidants -vitamin A, C, E and their derivatives (tocopherol acetate, ascorbyl phosphate), coenzyme Q10-in destructive conditions. The stability

Read moreThis paper is focused on the development and testing the behaviour of ceramic electrochemical deposition on new alloys based on Co-Cr-Mo. The electrolyte used for the deposition phosphate was a mixture of CaCl2.2H2O and NH4H2PO4 and the stability was tested in a artificial saliva .The paper has the intention to evaluate biocompatibility both concerning the alloy corrosion resistance in specific bioliquids and cell culture on the surface of alloy
Read moreThe in-vitro bioactivity of SiC growing using the innovative hybrid laser-magnetron deposition technique was investigated. The biological response has been analysed after being immersed in a human blood plasma solution for 10 days. Surface analysis by SEM microscopy shows clearly an adsorption process after immersion. The products formed are mainly attributed to a rich-calcium phosphate and silica-complexes layers. Citotoxicity test shows a normal
Read moreThis study focuses on the connection between biocompatibility and corrosion resistance for a Co-Cr-Mo alloy destined for biomedical applications. Electrochemical, surface analysis and in vitro tests were used to estimate the stability of the alloy in simulated physiological environment (artificial saliva, Hank solution), for different pH and surface preparation conditions, and its behavior in the presence of fibroblast cells. The results prove a
