premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Palaeoenvironmental information from the palynology of an 800year old bat guano deposit from Măgurici Cave, NW Transylvania (Romania)

Pollen analysis of a 270 cm deep guano deposit from Măgurici Cave (NW Romania) was performed to understand the vegetation dynamics and the influence of deforestation and farming activities that unfolded in the Transyl- vania area over the past 800 years. The study discusses the value of cave guano as a source of palaeoclimate data and tests if guano sequences record the same signals as other proxies (tree rings, speleothems, lakes or peat). The

Two Cases of Divorce in the Town of Arad in the Eighteenth Century

The two documents, which are the subject of the present study, made to share property in the event of divorce, help to form an image on various aspects of daily life, poorly known from other sources: household size, land property, earnings in marriage furniture, tools, animals, prices, food, secular and religious involvement of the private life etc. In addition to legal information, both inventories, which stood at the base of documents on which

A unique dinuclear mixed V(V) oxo-peroxo complex in the structural speciation of the ternary V(V)-peroxo-citrate system. Potential mechanistic and structural insight into the aqueous synthetic chemistry of dinuclear V(V)-citrate species with H2O2

Diverse vanadium biological activities entail complex interactions with physiological target ligands in aqueous media and constitute the crux of the undertaken investigation at the synthetic level. Facile aqueous redox reactions, as well as nonredox reactions, of V(III) and V(V) with physiological citric acid and hydrogen peroxide, under pH-specific conditions, led to the synthesis and isolation of a well-formed crystalline material upon the addition

Interferential dichroic filter

The aim of the present paper is to provide a description of the general aspects regarding the theoretical concept, the structure, the execution and the properties of an interferential filter used in a medical application. The main functional characteristic of this filter is to block the radiation supplied by a He-Ne laser ( = 632,8 nm), allowing to passing only the higher wavelength radiation ( > 650 nm). The most important problem that has

Selective interferential filters with high optical efficiency and increased resistance in intense optical radiation

In this paper the results of a study and the found solutions for some interferential filters obtained through Physical Vapor Deposition method on optical support are presented. These filters have a good resistance to an intense optical radiation, as well a high optical efficiency in a large spectral domain (400 - 2000 nm). Both theoretical and experimental aspects will be discussed herein.

Ellipsometric arrangement for thin films control

An ellipsometric experimental set up of PSA type with an extinction factor E.F.= 10-5, inspired from the Gaertner’s L119 and a powerful BASIC software for the theoretical calculus of the ellipsometric parameters  and , including original practical solutions, were developed. Encouraging results were obtained in applying the simple ellipsometric method of azimuths to determine the optical constants: refractive index n, absorption index k and

Effect of pulse number on the ablation rate of metals in PLA multi-pulse regime

The pulsed laser ablation of aluminium, copper and titanium irradiated with 4.5 ns pulses at 355 nm, 532 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths is investigated in open air at normal atmospheric conditions. The effect of pulse number, which is varied in the range of 5 to 50, on ablation rate in these three wavelength regimes is determined. The results indicate a higher efficiency of the ablation in VIS and UV regimes as compared to IR regime which is characterised
