premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

VIRTUAL GARMENT SIMULATION BY USING THE PARAMETRIC MANEQUINN

The paper presents some theoretical and experimental aspects in obtaining the parametric mannequin used for training or virtual reality simulation software. The data obtained from 3D body scan consists in an unorganized cloud points. The parameterization objective is to obtain a symmetrical body mesh from a raw body captured from 3D scanner. The basic body (cloud points) captured presents the noises, holes that consist on the lack or points surplus.

Modeling and 3D simulation of the garment product

The 3d modeling of the clothing products is used from the need to simplify the design process and product design. The simulation is required to view the layout and shape of the product design and to analyze its behavior and response to various demands. Concerns in this area have resulted in the techniques establishment of discrete or continuous, static or dynamic modeling for the simulation of the surface texture used in the clothing product. also,

Evaluation of four traditional Romanian medicinal plants as wound healing agents

Achillea millefolium L., Hyssopus officinalis L., Equisetum arvense L. and Echinacea purpurea (L.) Moench, are four medicinal plants traditionally used in Romania for the treatment of skin disorders and wound healing. In order to support their use for new plant derived products the aim of this study was to evaluate their potential to stimulate the wound healing process. We investigated the four herbal extracts by HPLC-MS for the presence of polyphenolic

Phytochemical evaluation of some natural populations of Achillea, Hypericum and Thymus from Romanian Eastern Carpathians used in traditional medicine

The phytochemical composition from the analyzed species was investigated in order to be used in phytopreparations for promoting ethnobotanical traditions from the Eastern Carpathians mountain range. The main phenolic compounds from Achillea samples identified by RP-HPLC-UV are apigenin, luteolin, apigenin-7-glucoside, luteolin-7-glucoside, caffeic acid and chlorogenic acid; the highest concentration was found in A. millefolium and A. distans methanolic

Contribution to the comparative studies of natural populations of Veronica from the Romanian Eastern Carpathians

In the study regarding the chemical composition of 5 Veronica species (V. urticifolia, V. austriaca, V. officinalis, V. chamaedrys, V. beccabunga), originating from habitats with reduced anthropization from the area surrounding the Moldavian Subcarpathians, we achieved a general phytochemical analysis to identify the big groups of active principles. By means of TLC and HPLC we analyzed the polyphenolic components, spectrophotometrically dosing the

Chemical variability of some natural populations of Ajuga sp. from the north-eastern part of Romania

Seven natural populations of Ajuga reptans L. and eight of A. genevensis L., harvested in June, 2008, from four counties situated in the north-eastern part of Romania, were investigated to determine their content of flavonoids, polyphenolic acids and iridoids in order to appreciate the inter- and intraspecific chemical variability. Using the TLC qualitaive investigation technique, we resorted to spectrophotometry for the quantitative determination

Metallic glasses from „alchemy” to pure science. Present and future of design, processing and applications of glassy metals.

Metallic glasses, first discovered a half century ago, are currently among the most studied metallic materials. Available in sizes up to several centimeters, with many novel, applicable properties, metallic glasses have also been the focus of research advancing the understanding of liquids and of glasses in general. Metallic Glasses (MGs) , called also bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) ( or glassy metals , amorphous metals , liquid metals) are considered

Olfactory groove meningiomas. A retrospective study on 59 surgical cases

We report here a retrospective study of 59 consecutive patients with olfactory groove meningiomas admitted and operated on between 1991 and 2008. Our goal was to characterize clinical features, treatment strategies, and outcome of these lesions. The surgical resection grade, the histological type and the presence of recurrences in the follow-up period were analyzed. Maximum tumor diameter determined by preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
