Rezumat:
A deep-water agglutinated foraminiferal (DWAF) assemblage is described for the first time from Paleocene strata of the substratum of the Transylvanian Basin in Romania. ADWAF assemblage accompanied by early Paleocene planktonic foraminifera was recovered from the Puini borehole, drilled in the Puini Subbasin. The sedimentary fill of the Puini subbasin was formerly regarded to be of Santonian to Maastrichtian age. Our finding of deep marine sediments of early Paleocene age means that marine sedimentation lasted longer in this area than previously thought.
