On behalf of the local organizing committee, we are delighted to invite you to participate in the first international conference (CE-PhD 2012) for PhD students, supervisors and experts involved in PhD civil engineering research programs. This conference is jointly organized by the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Faculty of Civil Engineering in partnership with SEnS Group. CE-PhD 2012 conference (http://sens-group.ro/ce2012/ ) with strong emphasis on participation from PhD students, provide the forum for academics,
young researchers and practitioners to discuss and review latest developments in the broad area of civil engineering.

The conference is aimed at all PhD students working within the broad field of Civil Engineering. The conference conceive to give students help and advice, to promote the new scientific generation in civil engineering and to develop stronger and more organized relationships between universities, national and international research funding agencies (CNCS – National Research Council) and the new researcher generations in civil engineering, respectively. During the CE-PhD 2012 students and community members will have an opportunity to attend several keynote presentations concerning the new indicators and directions in research, development and innovation (RDI) system in the field of engineering science in general and particularly in the field of civil engineering. In this respect several personalities from CNCS (National Research Council), CNATDCU (Consiliul National de Atestare a Titlurilor, Diplomelor si Certificatelor Universitare) and other academic related institutions will be invited.
