Rezumat:
The heavy metal content in superior horizons, 0–20 cm depth of urban soils situated lengthways of the main streets was analyzed from three Romanian municipalities: Bucharest, Iassy and Baia Mare. The last city, Baia Mare, has received a stronger anthropogenic impact because of the presence of mining and processing nonferrous ores industries. The Baia Mare urban soils are polluted with Pb, Zn, Cu, and Cd, while the urban soils from Bucharest and Iassy, similarly in location, are contaminated very severe with Pb and Zn, severe with Cu and moderate with Cd. The most part of the total pollutant chemical elements is bound to the soluble fraction (soil solution) and potential soluble (exchangeable fraction and those organic matter bounded).
