Biosorption of Cd2+ Ions By Immobilized Cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Adsorption Equilibrium and Kinetic Studies
Biosorption of cadmium (II) ions from aqueous solution onto immobilized cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was investigated. Equilibrium and kinetic studies were conducted taking into consideration the effect of initial cadmium (II) concentration. The obtained results showed that the uptake of heavy metal increases with an increase of initial cadmium (II) concentration. Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were used to analyze the equilibrium data.
