premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Acoustic emission of metallic pipes at mechanical tests

This paper presents some experimental results concerning the acoustic emission (AE) of metallic materials, submissive at mechanical tests. In experimental work we utilized a piezoelectric sensor which output signal is displayed on the memory digital oscilloscope. As results, the signal analysis in time and frequency can be used to determine the attenuation coefficients, delaminating, voids, defects, etc. The receiver transducer (sensor) on the opposite

Alveolarization Continues During Childhood and Adolescence: New Evidence from 3He Magnetic Resonance.

RATIONALE: The current hypothesis that human pulmonary alveolarization is complete by 3 years is contradicted by new evidence of alveolarization throughout adolescence in mammals. OBJECTIVES: We re-examined the current hypothesis using helium-3 ((3)He) magnetic resonance (MR) to assess alveolar size non-invasively between 7-21 years, during which lung volume nearly quadruples. If new alveolarization does not occur, alveolar size should increase to

Iris Codes Classification Using Discriminant and Witness Directions

The main topic discussed in this paper is how to use intelligence for biometric decision defuzzification. A neural training model is proposed and tested here as a possible solution for dealing with natural fuzzification that appears between the intra- and inter-class distributions of scores computed during iris recognition tests. It is shown here that the use of proposed neural network support leads to an improvement in the artificial perception

8-Valent Fuzzy Logic for Iris Recognition and Biometry

This paper shows that maintaining logical consistency of an iris recognition system is a matter of finding a suitable partitioning of the input space in enrollable and unenrollable pairs by negotiating the user comfort and the safety of the biometric system. In other words, consistent enrollment is mandatory in order to preserve system consistency. A fuzzy 3valent disambiguated model of iris recognition is proposed and analyzed in terms of completeness,
