premii Ad Astra

Asociația Ad Astra a anunțat câștigătorii Premiilor Ad Astra 2022: http://premii.ad-astra.ro/. Proiectul și-a propus identificarea și popularizarea modelelor de succes, a rezultatelor excepționale ale cercetătorilor români din țară și din afara ei.

Asociatia Ad Astra a cercetatorilor romani lanseaza BAZA DE DATE A CERCETATORILOR ROMANI DIN DIASPORA.

Breastfeeding and childhood asthma: systematic review and meta-analysis

Asthma and wheezing disorders are common chronic health problems in childhood. Breastfeeding provides health benefits, but it is not known whether or how breastfeeding decreases the risk of developing asthma. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of studies published between 1983 and 2012 on breastfeeding and asthma in children from the general population. We searched the PubMed and Embase databases for cohort, cross-sectional, and case-control

Shear Banding in Metallic Glasses: Major Weakness or Potential Advantage?

Metallic glasses (MGs) look like metals and have the intimate structure and sometimes the behavior of glasses. The first reported scientifically obtained MG was the alloy Au75Si25 produced at Caltech by Klement et al., in 1959, by extremely rapid cooling of the Au-based melted alloy. Due to the high solidification rate required to produce MGs, the section thickness was small, i.e. only a few tens of micrometers, typically 20 to 50m [5-7].

Effect of C and Ce addition on the microstructure and magnetic property of the mechanically alloyed FeSiBAlNi high entropy alloys

Highlights FeSiBAlNi (C, Ce) amorphous HEAs have been fabricated by mechanical alloying. The effects of C and Ce addition were investigated. Ce addition exhibits a remarkably enhanced effect on glass forming ability (GFA). C and Ce additions are beneficial to enhance thermal stability. http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0304885316303894

Sodium ion effect on separation of butyrylcholinesterase from plasma by ion-exchange chromatography

ABSTRACT: Purpose of the paper was the optimization of mobile phase in natrium chloride gradient in the chromatographic separation of butyrylcholinesterase from human plasma. Materials/Methods. Butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) was isolated from human plasma using a diethylamminoethyl-cellulose column, by elution with 0.02M acetate buffer pH=4.0, gradually increasing NaCl percentage from 10% to 80%. The procedure lasted approximately 28 days. Results.

HPLC METHOD FOR THE SIMULTANEOUS DETERMINATION OF THE COMPONENTS OF AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION ANTIDOTE

Abstract The objectives of this study were to develop and validate a method for the simultaneous HPLC-UV determination of obidoxime (OBI), scopolamine (SCA), Atropine (ATR) and imipramine (I) in an aqueous antidote solution. An ion-pair mechanism with DAD (diode array detector) detection was used to quantitatively determine the four drugs. The proposed HPLC method uses a Kromasil 100-5C8 (250x4.6mm) column, gradient elution, at 25°C column temperature.

Formulation and evaluation of in vitro release kinetics of Na3CaDTPA decorporation agent embedded in microemulsion-based gel formulation for topical delivery.

Abstract Manuscript received: December 2014 The purpose of this study was to evaluate the in vitro release kinetics of Na3CaDTPA, a well-known and widely-used decorporation agent, from a topical microemulsion-gel formulation in comparison with a conventional gel. For the preparation of hydrogels, Carbopol 934 polymer was used. Release studies were conducted using both hydrophobic (polycarbonate) and hydrophilic (mixed cellulose esters) membranes.
